A perfectly useful idiot
By Michael Moriarty Arts and Letters is always an enjoyable respite from the increasingly dreary headlines and daily opinion columns of this Progressively Marxist New World Order. However, once I dipped my own pen into a review of American Existentialism I received a "Peep of Protest" from the author or possibly the actual creator of such a philosophy as American Existentialism, George Cotkin. Needless to say the whole, hopefully mild dispute can be summed up in the title of Mr. Cotkin's next book, Morality's Muddy Waters. As if American Existentialism were Clearwater, Florida. Here is what Mr. Cotkin has to say about my essay which appeared in enterstageright.com:
No, I clearly had no intention of thinking that Mr. Cotkin had any personal intent to encourage lawlessness. As you might glean from my article, I rather likened George Cotkin to my professors at Dartmouth who never saw a connection between existentialism and the likes of Jared Loughner. I'm quite taken, however, by the omission in George's letter of the French Existential Giants, Jean Paul Sartre and the playwright, Jean Genet. Genet himself, of course, had a few distinctively unfriendly encounters with the gendarmes of both Paris and Chicago. The latter was during the 1968 Democratic Convention – a drama in the streets just outside the hotel window of a true American Existential Francophile named Norman Mailer. It's hard to tell if American intellectuals like Mailer or George Cotkin, for that matter, are or have been Communist or just amount to the "useful idiots" of Communism that Yuri Bezmenov has warned us of. Now that there really is … I guess … such a thing as American Existentialism, it obviously reinforces my extensive apprehensions about the very French Revolution within America. Odd how the France of Nicholas Sarkozy now seems to be backing away from where Obama would like to take America and the New World Order. Here is my reply to Mr. Cotkin:
I don't think that there is any doubt that the Reds of both Moscow and Beijing have infiltrated Islam to such depths that what looks like the work of Jihadists and Osama bin Laden of the 9/11 massacre was the actual beginning of a World War III by proxy. Yes, 9/11 as a latter-day Pearl Harbor with Japan's Emperor replaced by the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the capital of this rejuvenated Axis and Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact no longer in Berlin or Moscow but throughout the entire Worldwide Communist Jihad. Soviet Reds were to Hitler and Japanese Kamikaze pilots as neo-Soviet Reds are now to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Islamic world's Jihadists: a brief love affair. The ubiquitous anarchy so prayed for by those who anticipate the arrival of a Marxist 12th Immam.? If you don't comprehend this, watch Glenn Beck. He will bring you up to date on both the Caliphate and The Coming Insurrection. With an agent provocateur standing on every major corner or in every countryside village of the earth, ready to bring The Revolution to complete fulfillment? With half of the Free World bored with the very notion of Judeo-Christianity, the Coming Insurrection is a work which seems to be inspiring American anarchists, Marxists and Jihadists to expand not only their size in numbers but their reach as well. No, I haven't read Mr. Cotkin's American Existentialism and I have no intention of doing so. As for Morality's Muddy Waters? I'm a Catholic of considerably lapsed credentials but I do believe abortion is murder. There is really nothing conveniently muddy about that as far as I'm concerned. As for Mr. Cotkin? I suspect his "muddy waters" are making him a perfectly useful idiot. Oh, another "Useful Idiot" over at National Public Radio just popped up on our computer screens.
How many of these usefully moral idiots does it take to make an Obama Nation? One George Soros, multi-billionaire; and an Oprah Winfrey as window dressing.
